FAQ

Who Should Cleanse?

In our minds, adults can benefit from a cleanse program as a regular part of their lifestyle regimen but no more than once a month.

Whether you are a stressed out workaholic or a stay-at-home mom, the truth is that life is no longer as simple as it once was.

We are all busy and struggle to find time for ourselves and often our health suffers as a result.

Our cleanse programs are designed for adults to enjoy, even those of you who are lactose-intolerant and keep a vegetarian or gluten-free diet.

Children under 18 should not participate in our cleansing program.

**Please keep in mind that our cleanse programs are NOT appropriate for those of you who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or suffer from certain medical conditions.

Consult your health care provider before starting a cleanse program if you have a medical condition or take medications.

What if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Our cleanse programs are designed for all healthy people; however, there are certain individuals who should not partake.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should not restrict your diet to liquids, as you need extra calories and nutrients in your diet.

Consult your health care professional if our drinks are right for you.

Am I going to lose weight on a cleanse?

It’s not about skinny, it’s about healthy.

When it comes to your health, one size doesn’t fit all—you're unique, and you're beautiful.

Create a better relationship with yourself and learn how to best support YOUR body.

By making healthy easy we aim to empower you to make the best choices for your body and inspire other lifestyle modifications for vibrant health.

Sometimes taking the first step is the most difficult part. By signing up for a cleanse it's one step in the right direction.

Can I exercise while on a cleanse?

Yes. You are not starving your body, you are feeding yourself with the best stuff possible and it’s broken into a form that is easily absorbed.

When you free your digestive system of all the work involved in breaking down the food you are typically energized. However, sometimes we feel cleansing symptoms in the form of lower energy than normal, so rest when necessary.

The best approach to your cleanse is that you listen to your body, exercise within your limits and get as much fresh air as possible.

We recommend walking, rebounding, light yoga and Pilates.

Can I do work on a cleanse?

Yes, you can. There is a big misconception that you will spend the entirety of your cleanse program in a brain fog.

Fortunately, it's simply not true.

It is best to keep yourself occupied, so keep to your normal work schedule and stay away from the tea room!

Should I do a 3-day cleanse or go for longer?

This depends on what you would like to get out of the cleanse program.

Cleansing for 6 days is a deeper, more intense experience than cleansing for 3 days.

It's up to you and a health care professional to do an evaluation of where you are in your life and from there decide what works best for you.

You always want to plan your cleanse for a period of time where you have some flexibility in your schedule and can make your body your top priority.

Of course, you can always customize the program to last even longer than 6 days if you so desire.

Listen to your body. If you are inexperienced, we recommend starting with our Classic Cleanse for 3 days.

How often can I cleanse?

This is a personal decision that should be discussed with a health care professional.

Many people like to cleanse whenever they start to feel seasonal health challenges.

This can mean anywhere from once a month to once every three to six months.

However, we believe you should include LYC juices in your schedule every day by either picking up a few at select Woolworths Metro or ordering juice packs online.

Consuming the nutrients in our fresh-pressed drinks on a regular basis will support your system and keep your body in optimal shape, inside and out.

Fasting? Cleansing? Are these one in the same?

It depends. At times the two words are interchangeable. The traditional definition of a fast is to go without any food or water for a period of time.

Not sure who is doing that these days.

All you need to know is that the Lucky You Cleanse is a nutritional cleanse, NOT a FAD diet.

By drinking the fresh juices, you will be flooding the body with pure hydration using the most assimilative nutrients available.

Whether you choose to do a 1 day cleanse ever so often or go the all out with a 5 day cleanse rest assured you are making a sound decision on behalf of your body and soul.

What is my best strategy to begin?

Be consistent. Pick a cleanse length, prepare for it in advance and follow its completion with healthy “alive” food and drink.

Remember, consistency rules and the “live, cleanse, rebalance” mantra works.

What if I am hungry?

Part of the cleanse process includes the hunger for most, mainly because we are not used to consuming less food.

Stirring up internal toxicity can also lead to hunger pangs. We recommend holding off on eating and allow what needs to happen: the body letting go of unwanted debris!

Tips to ward off the feeling of feeding ourselves what’s not on the menu?
Herbal teas, baths with essential oils, be with loved ones and look for ways to nourish yourself without food being involved.
If that is not working, try drinking some broth. And if you really need to get some food in you, have a few slices of apples or cucumbers.

Can I cleanse if I am on medication?

This you need to discuss with your doctor.

Do the juices need to be refrigerated?

Once you receive your juices you should put them in the fridge and shake before consuming.
